Customer &/Or Vendor Search

Objective:

Performs searches based primarily on the vendor or customer name or both, with additional filters and/or search options.

Search functionalities:

This program uses an indexing technology that allows you to perform linguistic text searches against the data, if the search is performed based on the customer or vendor name.

The name search performs an exact match search, as well as a fuzzy search or a wildcard type search, that is if you type in “AQUA” it will look for names that have the word “AQUA” in it such as “AQUA VALLEY FARM”, or names that are similar or sound like it such as “AGUA-ZARCA NURSERY INC” in a fuzzy search manner or names that contain the word “AQUA” as part of the name such as “AQUATIC GREENS FARM” in a wildcard type search.

The search by account numbers (bill-to or ship-to) will look for whatever accounts have those letters you typed in.

The search results are sorted by account number.

If you don’t type anything or any search criteria and hit ENTER it will bring the first 2000 customers based on your branch. Otherwise, it will return results based on the input fields on the screen.

Additional filters:

Acct. Type (C/Customer V/Vendor) : If blanks, the search looks for both Vendors and Customers. Otherwise, if “C” it will search customers only and “V” will search vendors only.

The search results can also be exported to Excel, by hitting F9.
